After over 35 years of travelling the world, Lewie Gonsalves defines this as the trip of a lifetime (and that's a pretty definitive comment). Past participants who have enjoyed Lewie's unique insight into the area have returned with tales of dramatic mountain vistas, remote and exceptional cultures and inspiring experiences. This year Lewie, once again, leads this remarkable voyage across the roof of the world. This is truly the stuff of dreams as we visit the kingdoms and former kingdoms of Darjeeling, Bhutan, Nepal and Tibet.
Set against the most inspiringly scenic backdrop in the world, this tour affords an insight into the unique people who inhabit this region. We will focus on these centers of Buddhist influence, visiting several remote monasteries in an attempt to better understand a remarkable culture that at one time flourished in the shadow of the world's highest mountain ranges. While the complexities of politics have touched these regions, we return to visit friends. We continue to share our common experiences and to search for that which brings us together at the top of the world. |
