ITINERARY IN DETAIL
DAY 01 Arrive BUENOS AIRES
Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, embark on a sightseeing tour of Buenos Aires, including 9 de Julio Avenue, the world’s widest boulevard, the famous Colon Opera house and the Obelisk. The tour continues to La Boca, an area greatly influenced by the Italian immigrants who settled there, and the brightly painted houses of Caminito Street and the Recoleta Cemetery, where the famous (including Eva Peron) are laid to rest. You will enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY 02 BUENOS AIRES
Today’s excursion will take you to Tigre, a charming city with many rowing, canoeing and yacht clubs, summer residences, and restaurants by the riverside. You will enjoy a leisurely motorboat cruise along the Paraná River Delta. The Delta is 220 square kilometers in size with picturesque small islands and numerous rivers. Lunch will be at a local restaurant.

DAY 03 BUENOS AIRES
Today you will visit an Estancia to experience a Gaucho festival. This is a unique experience held at a beautiful country residence, on an old ranch. Lunch includes a typical "asado criollo" (barbecue) with wine. This is followed by a folklore show featuring traditional music and dances and a gaucho skills demonstration. A special treat this evening will be a Dinner & Tango show. Buenos Aires is also called the “city that never sleeps,” full of theatres, cinemas, restaurants, discos and a large number of tango shows. The tango is part of the background music of Buenos Aires.

This morning you’ll explore the Argentine side of the falls, including a special boat trip for a close up view of “Garganta Del Diablo,” the Devil’s Throat.

DAY 06 Fly IGUAZU-SALVADOR (BAHIA)
This morning, you’ll visit the Brazilian side of falls, including a wonderful walk in the forest. You can expect spectacular panoramic views of the falls. This afternoon, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight to Salvador. You’ll arrive into Salvador later in the evening.

DAY 07 SALVADOR
This morning you’ll have a city tour. Salvador (Bahia) is a beautiful city and has been an inspiration for artists from all over the world. The red-tiled roofs atop white-walled houses, swaying palm trees, baroque architecture and sumptuous mansions, mud-thatched shanties, plodding donkeys, voodoo rituals and carefree happy people make this a fascinating experience. Lunch will be at a local restaurant.

Today is a day at leisure to enjoy the white sandy beaches and soak up the wonderful atmosphere. This evening you’ll experience a special dinner and show.

DAY 09 Fly SALVADOR-BELO HORIZONTE
The morning and early afternoon will be at leisure. Later in the afternoon, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight to Belo Horizonte, the capital of the State of Minas Gerais. It was founded in 1897 and is a planned city, originally modeled after Washington D.C.

DAY 10 BELO HORIZONTE-OURO PRETO-BELO HORIZONTE
Today you’ll visit the enchanting city of Ouro Preto, stopping enroute at Congonhas, a sleepy village where you will enjoy the art and works of the famous Brazilian artists. You will visit the Church of Bom Jesus de Matosinhos, housing the twelve sculptured statues of the prophets. Even more impressive are the sixty-six life-size statues of the Stations of the Cross, displayed in six chapels. During the 1700s, Ouro Preto was the centre of gold and diamond mining and home to the wealthiest people in Brazil. The fine old mansions and venerable churches are testaments to the wealth of the day. So unusual is Ouro Preto, that the government has declared it a national museum.

DAY 11 Fly BELO HORIZONTE-RIO
This morning, you’ll have a tour of Belo Horizonte including Liberty Square, The Palace of Arts, The Garden City and History Museum, the city of Pampulha, and the Chapel of Saint Francis. The chapel was decorated by Portinari and built by Oscar Niemeyer, the same architect who planned Brasília, the capital of Brazil. This evening, you’ll fly to Rio.

DAY 12 RIO
Today’s excursion will take you to Corcovado and the Tijuca Forest. On this tour, you will visit the amazing Christ the Redeemer, which stands on the top of the Corcovado Mountain (2,300 feet above sea level). You will be driven through the Laranjeiras residential district and the quaint Cosme Velho to the Corcovado train station. Here you will board a cogwheel train for a 15-minute ride that crosses Tijuca forest - the largest urban forest in the world. It has 8,000 acres of tropical rain forest right in the middle of Rio de Janeiro. You will enjoy lunch at Tourao BBQ House, a typical Brazilian-style restaurant.

DAY 13 RIO
Today you will take a tour to Sugar Loaf Mountain. En route, you will be driven along famous beaches, including Sao Conrado, Leblon, Ipanema and Copacabana. You will take a cable car, in two stages, to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain. From the summit you will have a dramatic view of the crescent of the Atlantic Ocean beaches and the city. You will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in the Copacabana district and then return to your hotel. No visit to Rio is complete without a tour of Rio by night. After a delicious dinner at a local restaurant you will witness the colour and rhythm of Brazil at a lively Samba show.
